My 50,000 Hit Giveaway

It's that time!

We are coming up on 50,000 hits on my blog, therefore I'm holding a giveaway because I do appreciate your support. Please put your creative minds to work.

I will be giving away a Kindle with a copy of my first short story, Lethal Injection, The Seed. The winner will be chosen by a public vote on the entries for this 100-word flash fiction contest.

Rules:

  • You must provide a title (title words do not count toward final word count.
  • Final word count cannot be more than 100 words.
  • You must provide an email address in the format of name (at) provider (dot) com.
  • You must provide title, story and email address in your comment to this blog post.
  • The theme for this contest is The Seed (should not be your title).

The contest will end when 20 entries are made or on October 21, 2012, whichever occurs first. I will then put up a voting gadget with each entry and invite people to read the entries and vote. I will leave voting up for one week, ending on October 28, 2012. I will then contact the winner who receives the most votes. I hope you will all participate because I look forward to reading your stories!

Contest over! No more voting, sorry.

  2. Sacred

Bodies entwined, the sheen of moisture coating their skin the only thing that separated them, the moment they’d been building to came in an explosion of gasping breaths. He sighed and, filled, she felt him deep within. She tightened and, enveloped, his eyes widened.

“You ok?” He brushed his lips against her forehead.

    “Yes, but…”

    “What?”

“It hurt.” Her hand slid down between them until she reached the point where he ended and she began. “I’m bleeding.”

“That’s normal,” he whispered through another kiss.

“Normal! How do you know that?” She shouted. “You promised it was your first time too!”

  5. LET ME GO

She takes the oxygen mask off and slips outside in her robe to feel sunshine on her face.

Not much time until they find me, she thinks. She sits on the wet grass surrounded by an ocean of dandelions.

Plucking gently from the ground she brings one to her pursed lips. One ragged deep breath. She blows. White lace parasols rise heavenward.

Dad and mom find her and frantically hook her back up to her oxygen.

“Her asthma. She shouldn’t have.” Her mother cries as she watches life escape her daughter.

“No. We should have.” They tenderly kiss her goodbye.

  13. Hi Diane,

I'd almost forgotten about this, to be honest (been ill so was busy remembering to breathe :) ) but so excited to see my story is in the running here ... was a nightmare to get down to 100 words, but worth it in the end and had a blast doing it.

Such a cool contest and congratulations on 50000 hits, that is all kinds of awesome! :)

Jusging by the feedback on your story I think that I'll be buying it even if my story doesn't win. :)

    Take care,

    Jay
